Sterling Archer

Sterling Archer is the self-proclaimed 'world's greatest spy' and the show's protagonist. Born to Malory Archer and an unknown father (possibly Nikolai Jakov, Buddy Rich, or a young Italian man), Archer was raised largely by his valet Woodhouse while his mother ran ISIS. He attended a boarding school where he was bullied, shaping his defensive narcissism.

Archer's skills are genuinely impressive: polyglot (speaks Russian, Portuguese, French, Italian, Japanese, German, Korean, Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Pashto, and some Cherokee), expert marksman, master of disguise, skilled driver/pilot, and capable hand-to-hand combatant. However, his emotional maturity stalled at adolescence, leading to narcissism, mommy issues, alcoholism, and an inability to maintain healthy relationships.

Over 14 seasons, Archer evolves from a selfish womanizer to someone capable of genuine sacrifice — though he'd never admit it. His relationships with Lana, Malory, and Woodhouse form the emotional core of the series.
